I am woman...here me roar!

All tucked in with Cuddle Bear. ..thanks Auntie Teen!
On my way to the baby cafe!
Me and my friend Mylo
Count down to the baby elephant...look closely and you can see it in my eyes!

Hallelujia...I have found my voice! I can make all kinds of sounds ranging from a high pitched squeal (a close likeness to a baby elephant it's very dramatic) to a snorting pig when I'm really hungry. Of course these send my parents into quite the state of trying to guess what it is I'm saying! A few quick snorts and I've got my Mom right where I want her...attached to me! I've also decided to really let some good cries out every now and then but I settle pretty quickly when I'm picked up and bounced on the ball. My Mom learned that trick from my buddy Owen's mom in Winnipeg!

I'm not sure if the pictures do them justice but you should also know that my eyes are starting to turn into a dreamy blue color. The world is becoming much more exciting as now I can see more and more. Mom takes me out every single day to see friends or walk in the park. Sometimes I resist but she says that I can rule her heart...but not her world so I have to keep my chin up and go with the flow.
I received a special gift from my Auntie Teen the other day. It's the softest bear ever...mom says she probably bought it in New York it's so trendy. Apparently that's where all girls love to shop. I guess we have to wait until Dad's not looking to learn about what it means to "shop" but Mom assures me that I will be briefed on the art of shopping pretty soon.

Well now, I better drift off to sleep...I'm resting up for the arrival of my Grandparents. Gonna work on developing my smile so I can really charm them into getting whatever I want!

Hug the world today...xoxoxo Jane Lillian

l'il ladyship of london

Hey aren't you supposed to be working?
Okay, where's the party?
This is my pram...and my Dad
Bracing myself for the plunge!

Hellooooo...

What a week! My Dad is on paternity leave and he really keeps me moving. We've been going for walks everyday. The other big news is that Mom and I have attempted to rid ourselves of the bottles which gives us a lot more freedom. So far I've been able to nurse all day...and then, just when I think life can't possibly get more exciting, they pump me full of a HUGE bottle right before bedtime. Ahhh yes, I have reached a state of baby nirvana with a tummy so full I sleep right through the night! Oh and another thing...today they plunged me right into a bath - up until now I have really only had nice sponge baths each day and now they expect me to swim in a tub. The jury is still out on that one...Dad wants me to be a watergirl but I'm not convinced.
I've included some photos of my week - hope you enjoy them!

love you all! Jane (aka l'il ladyship of london)

What's in a name?

Hangin' with my friends!

Auntie Tana and Uncle Mark: Keepin me stylin'

Hello my friends,

Phew...I'm back to my usual self today (witty, calm, playful, good looking). I spent almost the whole night out of sorts and thought I was hungry the entire time. Mom and Dad took turns helping me get through the night and today I feel like a new girl. I just went AWOL for a day nothing too serious...now Mom and Dad really appreciate my good nature :).

We started a new program today...it's called: Eat/Play/Sleep and my Mom tries to keep me awake after my feeds. This means that she talks to me A LOT! Today she explained the meaning behind my name and WOW is it ever special. Good thing I'm such a balanced combination of clever and cute otherwise I don't know how I would ever live up to it!

You see, my middle name is Lillian and it is after my Dad's maternal grandmother who died when my Dad was two. She was a very special person to many people and Mom and Dad tell me that she will always be a part of my life, watching over me and cheering me on from above. My first name Jane is a family name on my Mom's side. My Mom's Auntie Jane is very special to her as she has always been a gentle support and a good listener. The name Jane was also one of my Great Gran's favorites. In fact, my Mom just found out today that GreatGran wrote about anticipating the birth of her youngest daughter and the name in her memoirs. Great Gran writes, "I quietly announce that this child is a girl, no doubt about it, and that it is my turn to have my Jane." Not unlike Great Gran, my Mom just decided one day that my name needed to be Jane...kind of a magical story isn't it?

Remember to make tons of space for happiness in your day today! Hugs and kisses, Jane

Hello...I'm a month old!

Not just anyone can pull off orange!

Wow...this morning I woke up to the realization that I am now exactly one month old. From my perspective I have grown wiser and chubbier. In fact, I weighed in at 8 lbs 1 oz yesterday. Perhaps this explains the virtual food comas I have been slipping into after gulping down a bottle and then nursing for quite a while. Ahhh...life is good. I've officially relinquished control of my hair as each day brings a different style. I say..."embrace the chaos" and let it be what it will be.

You may want to scroll down and read the post after this one as it was my first one ever and explains why I have decided to take on this important task of sharing my life with everyone!

I've included a few new photos to show you how I've grown. I attend music class daily from my comfy bouncy chair and I LOVE my bath so mornings are a real pleasure here in my flat.

Hugs and Kisses...I love you all...Jane Lillian

A Girl and her Blog

A Canadian Girl in London
Being born is so tiring!

Hello Everyone!

You may be surprised to be hearing from me a mere four weeks after my official debut in this world but hey...in this day and age a girl has to get a move on in order to keep up! Amidst one of my zen like "tummy full/bum dry" moments I had this great idea to create my own space to share the world as seen through my eyes...that is...when they are open! You see, upon review of my parents webspace it became quite clear that I could no longer play a supporting role in this family...alas my friends I do believe I am ready to be a leading lady.

I hope you'll enjoy reading my blog and watching me grow. I'm hoping that this helps to make me feel closer to all my Canadian friends and family. By the way...it was very exciting the other night at 3:00 a.m. when I was up with Mom as we found an NHL hockey game on tv. Mom and Dad are working hard at keeping me close to my roots!

Okay, I have been awake far too long...time to get back to the business of being a baby! Here's to a new start on a new blog...to begin with, I thought I'd share some of my favorite glamour shots from my very first day.
