How's this Auntie Jane???
My favorite Baby Einstein Caterpillar!!!
You mean I get to keep all of these new toys?
A girl can never have too many shoes.

YES!

I'm one and now I'm allowed to eat cake. I think you'll like the photos from my birthday party. I had friends over and opened all kinds of presents. This is a great warm up to Christmas!! Thanks to everyone for all the great stuff!!!

Talk to you soon...lots of new things to play with!

Went to bed 0 and woke up 1 !!

things are lookin' good around here this unwrapping thing is a lot of work
i'm outta here...they don't pay me enough for this job
ok so maybe it was worth it!

Woohooo!

It's such an exciting month. Today I turned 1 and what a celebration. I was allowed to open one of my gifts while Dad was still at home this morning. AND there is some talk about maybe letting me eat a cupcake tonight at dinner...I'm not holding my breath but just maybe I'll be able to...just maybe. We've been busy this week - Mom took me to two important meetings and I sung in my loudest voice through the first one which kind of stressed Mom out so I decided to really tone it down yesterday. We went to the airport last night to meet Gran and Grandad and I was out WAY after dark. It's sure an exciting time and I wish every single day was my birthday. We are baking my birthday cake today and hopefully will decorate it on Saturday in time for my real birthday party. Mom has a "back up" cake in the freezer in case this one doesn't work out because we are trying something new.

Okay - time for a quick nap. Here are some photos of me as a one year old.

A little pizazz never hurt anyone...

Lookin' good and crawling makes a girl awfully...
Thirsty.

Hello,

What do you think of my new style? I really love to wear this bright red headband in my hair and crawl all the way to the front entrance of the house just to gaze at myself in the mirror. I think it looks great and life is too short to go leaving your best velvet headband in the drawer where nobody gets to admire it. This should help with all those people thinking I'm such a "cute little guy" when mom and I are out shopping.

We are all pretty busy. I read out loud a lot...and I mean out LOUD. My favorite word is "duga" and I could just say it over and over again. It's so much fun to say. Tonight we are getting all packed up to go to Vancouver. Mom has "important" meetings so I guess I'll hang out with Dad at the hotel and at the university. Maybe I'll try to take some pictures while I'm there to post on the blog because I know it's been a wee bit slow lately.

Well...I better go and pack: 1. Hot pink turtle neck, 2. Polka Dot Bikini (for the pool with Dad) and 3. Red velvet headband....and the rest I'll let Mom worry about.

Duga duga,

Jane

What's that smell?

A sweet skunk!
Which pumpkin is the cutest of them all?
I think I like Halloween treats!
Little skunk with a big foot.
I just LOVE this Halloween book.
Happy BELATED Halloween!

It's taking me a long time to get these pictures up from my FIRST HALLOWEEN!! As you might notice, I started out the day as Little Miss Pumpkin and ended as a cute and cuddly skunk. I had a great party with my Auntie Tana and my Grandma and Grandpa. It sure was an exciting day. I also survived my first separation from my Mom, or rather, she survived her first time away from me! We were apart for 5 days while she went to meetings in Toronto!!!

OH AND DID I MENTION THAT NOW I CAN CRAWL???

Time for bed now...xoxo Jane

A cuddle from Auntie Teen before heading out for a fancy dinner!

Hello Again!

As you can see...I've been "a little bit of busy" (Chase taught me that one) and after all the great cuddles, plays, and stories...I'm tired. Mom and Dad are still unpacking our new house and waiting for some of our furniture. I'll post some photos of our new home as soon as possible. I hope you enjoy both of these posts (yes, this is what you've all been waiting for)...I have to go to sleep now....

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...Jane

Hello Everyone...

All is well here in Calgary. We've settled into our new home and we are all very happy. I'm getting use to the new digs. I have my OWN ROOM and even my OWN BATHROOM. We go on lots of walks through the neighborhood and we have joined a great group at the library where a funny girl reads stories and sings songs...and it's every tuesday so I get to go tomorrow! I'm going to post a few pictures so you can get an idea of what I have been up to since our departure from Greenwich. It's hard to even remember all the fun things that have happened. Auntie Tana had her wedding (we both wore fancy white dresses), we visited our family in Manitoba, flew to LA to see Auntie Cathy and her family and then got on another plane (did I mention that was the tenth flight I've been on?) and visited with Auntie Teen. FINALLY on September 30th we arrived here in Calgary. Sigh...I think I have quite a few airmiles.

Okay...I'm going to go to bed now and dream about Halloween....

BUT...I've spent my WHOLE life here!

C'mon Dad...do you think maybe I could have both?
Mommy is covering up all my embarassing bits!
The first of many cuddly nights with "bear"
BIG NEWS...

Although it may be hard to believe...the time has come for us to move back to Canada. I'm really not sure what to think of this as Greenwich is all I really know. Mom and Dad are very busy putting everything into big piles and bags...and Mom's friends are stopping by all the time and giving us both big hugs. I've had to say goodbye to all my friends but Mom assures me that the world is full of good people and that with an open heart (and a good haircut) I can make new friends wherever I go. The friends here are special because we all came into this world around the same time and our Mom's have spent lots of time together. Life is full of change and we take with us the most important things...Mom, Dad, Jane...memories...and toys.

We are spending the weekend packing and will go to Central London on Saturday which means...trains...tubes...escalators...lifts....naps. Not sure what life will be like in Canada but I'm quite sure I will like it.
Greenwich has been very nice, it's called the "place where time begins" but I think now it might be forever known as "the place where Jane begins."

With hugs, kisses and a few goodbye tears...Jane

Endings and Beginnings

Hello (snarfle sniff),
You will have to excuse me...I'm a bit stufffed up due to a head cold. It's quite hectic here right now as Mom and Dad are making all the final plans for our move back to Canada. We leave here on August 27th just in time for Auntie Tana's wedding. We have lots of people to see before we leave...Mylo, Anna, Julian, Teagan and William are all coming over today after my nap. We are very excited to move back closer to our friends and family but also a bit sad that we have to say goodbye to all the people we have met here in Greenwich. On Sunday we went to Greenwich Park and had family photos taken it was really fun. I'm going to miss that park. Oh and also, Dad is taking a few days off this week so we can spend time in Central London as a family and I think (I hope) he will buy me a Hamley's Bear for my new bedroom in Calgary.

Fingers crossed, Jane

My Visit to Vienna!

As a seasoned traveller I had all the essentials: sunnies, hat, and travel guide.
Cherry flavored beer...I'm not letting go of this without a taste.
I'm not easily fooled...who do they think they are dealing with?
MMMMMM....wineries and good food...Mom and Dad sure smiled a lot!
Dad says he has "had enough" of travelling...any idea why?

Hi!

We are home from another adventure. Yes, it might appear as though I have an incredibly exciting life but I'll have you know that while we travel I am forced into the same old routine of sleeping, eating, sleeping, eating. It doesn't seem to matter where they take me..."Jane Lillian" (as Mom likes to say rather sternly) must stay on her schedule!! Apparently Mom and Dad look forward to my naps...hmmmm. I am very good at being flexible and I have now been on every single mode of transport except for a boat...we think we'll do this very soon.

We all loved Vienna. Spent the days walking in the sunshine and sitting in cafe's. Mom and Dad would start tasting the Viennese wine by about 11:00 every day and would coast through the day on varieties of food and drink. Mom even bought a cup of coffee for four euro's at a famous cafe!!! You should have seen the look on Dad's face while he enjoyed his "tap" water!! Overall we had a great trip and even though Dad says he doesn't want to travel with me anymore Mom thinks we'll slip away one more time before we come home to Canada.

Have to run off now...I expect that my friends have missed me a lot so I have to catch up on all the infant gossip in Greenwich!

Taa taa for now....Jane
ps - there are sooo many great photos...I may add a few more soon!

Cornwall Cutie

Sleeping on the Sand with a Sea full of Surfers...S S S.
Dad and I like to take all the tricky paths.
Another day of sightseeing...oh what a life!
Gee...can't believe I slept through this cool tower.

Hello,

I'm home now from a week in Cornwall. The countryside is very pretty but the journey is really long and twisty so we were very tired when we arrived and even more tired when we returned yesterday to our flat in London. I was soooo happy when Mom and I walked through the door and I saw all MY toys and not another baby in sight to have to share with! I was grinning from ear to ear. While in Cornwall I figured out how to make very loud noises and I have started waking my parents up by shouting. Mom and Dad are now frantically getting ready for our next fun trip. We leave for Vienna on Saturday and stay there for 5 days. It's sure a good thing I like travel and adventure!!
Have to go to swimming now...it's my last lesson so I don't want to miss out.
Love you, Jane

Park 'n Palace Hoppin'

Yummy yummy yummy I got love in my tummy...and carrots/pear/apple/banana.....
First stop: a little place they call "Kensington Palace".
You mean there was another princess? And she lived here?

"Please do not stand on grass" Dad and I break all the rules!

No animals were harmed in the making of this posh faux fur!

Hello!

It's Monday morning and I'm just about to go for my nap. We had a very very busy weekend. In fact, it was so busy that Mom and Dad went to bed last night at 8:30 because they were soooo tired. I don't know why they get so tired out...guess I'm a bit of extra work somedays. We went to Central London on Saturday and did a "park and palace crawl." That means we hopped from one park to the next, stopping only for a bottle or some pureed carrots and then onto the next one! We started out in Notting Hill (Mom's favorite market) and went to Mike's Cafe...this is the place Mom, Dad, Gran and Grandad took me when I was only two and a half weeks old...what were they thinking? We then walked all through Kensington Palace Gardens, Hyde Park, and Green Park!

On Sunday the Tour de France passed right by our flat. Mom and I watched it from the balcony and Dad went down to be part of the action. Afterwards there was a festival in Greenwich with lots of cool activities. Family weekends are the best!

Okay - I have to go to sleep now and dream about what we might do next weekend!

Cheerio, Jane

Une Jolie Fille A Paris!

Ready..set...GO!
Weeeee are all here!
zzzzzzzzeiffeltowerzzzzzzzzz
Oui oui Paris...this is me on my balcony!
STAR of the Eurostar!

Bonjour mes amis...

Okay, that's all I can do...no more french for little me! I'm just home from two days in Paris. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to travel and I'm absolutely happy the entire time. Well, almost the entire time. I tend to get a little cranky on the very last part of the journey which I think is expected...a little girl can only behave for so long. Mom and I loved Paris - although Mom says it's a city for lovers not for babies! Mom managed to enjoy every minute and ignored the silly people who didn't seem at all pleased that I had come to visit their lovely city. We walked around and saw all the amazing sights...well I saw most of them but I also slept through a few important highlights!! Perhaps when I'm a little bit older I'll go back with a backpack and some friends!

I hope you like the pictures....I'll tell you more about my adventures when I'm home for a visit this summer....Mom and I are tres fatiguee....I think that means exhausted!

Au Revoir, Jane
